Self-adhesive magnets are manufactured in the form of double-sided tape plaster on the back of the normal Layer Magnet. Therefore, if you buy a normal Layer Magnet and apply double-sided sant, you should get the same result according to the logic. However, the result of this application may not be what you expected most of the time! The rationale for this concerns the quality of the tape. Not every duct tape or double-sided tape is the same: the quality of the tapes varies depending on the raw material of the product, the style of manufacture and the care shown during production.
Let's open up the subject of duct tape and double-sided tape a bit: ”Two different raw materials are used as glue in duct tapes. The first one is hotmelt and the second one is acrylic adhesive. There are also duct tapes made of different raw materials for special needs, but their prices are much higher. Therefore, the product that is sold in the market and which you buy as duct tape or double-sided tape contains either acrylic or hotmelt adhesive. Hotmelt is stronger than acrylic tapes in terms of adhesion strength.
The lowest thickness that can be used in fridge magnets distributed for promotional purposes is currently 0.4mm. So why? Wouldn't we reduce the costs even more if we manufactured the magnets with a 0.3mm magnet?
Though these thoughts that frustrate the appetite of many manufacturers sound good in theory, they do not give positive results in practice.
Layer magnets are not magnets that have a lot of attraction. Therefore, if played with thickness, this will directly affect the strength of the magnet.
